EB-5 On Paper
On paper, EB-5 is a program created by Congress in 1990 to benefit the United States economy through the contributions of foreign investors. A qualified investor must invest in a project that saves or creates 10 jobs through a contribution of at least $1 million (or $500,000 if funds are allocated to a Targeted Employment Area (TEA), a designated area with a high percentage of unemployment).

EB-5 In Real Life
In real life, EB-5 is improving the lives of countless individuals around the globe. It is estimated that during the 2012 fiscal year alone, contributions to the gross domestic product (GDP) of the United States totaled $3.39 billion – a staggering amount that supported more than 42,000 jobs for Americans with no cost to taxpayers. In addition, these investments have allowed foreign individuals to legally obtain residency and create better lives for themselves and their families in the United States.
